Our Education and Public Engagement department offers inclusive programming and innovative interpretive tools that encourage exploration and understanding of contemporary art. In providing platforms for exchange related to the exhibitions presented by the Fondation, we encourage critical dialogue informed by diverse perspectives.

Our visits, workshops and activities are offered free of charge.

Group Visits and Workshops

We invite any group of ten people or more to reserve a guided visit with one of our educators. These visits are designed for groups of all types: primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities, community centres and language schools, as well as the general public. Visits last 1½ hours.

Groups who reserve a guided visit of the exhibition Yoko Ono: LIBERTÉ CONQUÉRANTE/GROWING FREEDOM also have the opportunity to take part in the art workshop The World Is Full of Everything It Needs (PDF), designed in collaboration with karen elaine spencer.

Unique to each exhibition and developed in collaboration with Montreal-based artists, our workshops complement participants’ gallery experience through hands-on experimentation. A visit combined with a workshop lasts two hours.

Visits in Movement with Festival Quartiers Danses

In the fall of 2018, we initiated a collaboration with Festival Quartiers Danses (FQD) to design the offering of guided visits where the movement of the body is at the core of the experience of the artworks. These visits are co-facilitated with a dancer choreographer from FQD. The article Sharing Dance describes this approach.

It is our great pleasure to offer these visits in movement to the general public and to families for the exhibition Yoko Ono: LIBERTÉ CONQUÉRANTE/GROWING FREEDOM. During these visits, offered on the dates and times below, you will have special access to the exhibition.

Thursday, June 13, from 7 PM to 8:30 PM (exhibition open until 9 PM)

Sunday, July 28, from 10 AM to 11:30 AM (for children below 12 years old, with adults)

Thursday, August 15, from 7 PM to 8:30 PM (exhibition open until 9 PM)
