About

The Fondation Phi presents the exhibition Yoko Ono: LIBERTÉ CONQUÉRANTE/GROWING FREEDOM. It comprises two parts that emphasize key concepts in the artist’s work, such as action, participation and imagination. The first part will focus on her “instruction” works, where visitors may take part. You will be invited to carry out different creative gestures throughout your visit. The second part of the exhibition will present the arc of collaborative projects for peace undertaken by Yoko Ono and John Lennon. Among these is the famous Montreal Bed-In, the fifty-year anniversary of which we will be celebrating on May 26, 2019, coinciding with Montreal Museums Day!

Pertulien Bantsimba
Through this oral transmission, which is the tale, the artist invites spectators to discover and understand the complexity and diversity of the mask in Africa, particularly in Congo. To talk about African masks, is to talk about an art, a ritual practice, a civilization. Masks are very important in African culture. They are part of the ceremonies, their functions are numerous and important.
