Affinities An afternoon of conversations with the artists of the Affinities series

Free admission
Date and time
Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 2 PM to 5 PM

This afternoon organised with Hexagram UQAM/Concordia will offer the opportunity to discuss the practices of the various artists participating in the Affinities event series. These interdisciplinary artists, whose works fall into the various categories such as art, dance, poetry, and music share a similar vanguard spirit to that of Joan Jonas. Each artist, in their own way explore modes of movement, sound and non-linear storytelling, reflective of a constantly evolving collective imaginary that reflects and shapes the various socio-political contexts we live in. A mode of production that is emblematic for present and past affinities between visual arts, new media and performance based practices, invested in exploring the politics of the exhibition as a site that frames situations and encounters and produces knowledge.
