DHC/ART Education Open House: Workshop and Guided Visits

Free admission
Date and time
Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 1 PM to 12:17 AM

DHC/ART Education invites visitors of all ages and art backgrounds to its bi-annual open house from 1 to 5 PM, Saturday February 6. Join us, along with artist Maria Ezcurra, in taking part in the workshop Red Roots/Green Lands.

Since 2011, DHC/ART Education has invited a local artist, whose work is in keeping with the artist on exhibition, to design a workshop that we can offer to groups who reserve guided visits to the exhibition. The open house is an opportunity to offer this same workshop to the general public in a relaxed, drop-in environment — in the presence of the participating artist.

Additionally, DHC/ART will be offering guided visits of IMAGINE BRAZIL. The guided visit in French will be at 2 PM and the guided visit in English at 3 PM.

Please meet in the lobby at 451 St-Jean Street. No reservation required.

Born in Argentina and raised in Mexico, Maria Ezcurra currently lives in Montreal, where she is a PhD Candidate in Art Education at Concordia University. Having studied Visual Arts at the National School of Fine Arts (ENAP) in Mexico, she later completed her studies at the Chelsea College of Art & Design (London, UK) before pursuing an MFA at the San Francisco Art Institute. A recipient of many prestigious awards, including the Fulbright-Garcia Robles Scholarship and the FRQSC award, Maria Ezcurra is also a member of the National System of Art Creators (SNCA) in Mexico. She has taught art in a number of universities and schools over the past 15 years and is currently artist-in- residence at the Faculty of Education of McGill University.
